Warsaw has solidarity with Euromaidan

Hundreds of people gathered in Warsaw for a rally of solidarity in Ukraine.

The rally took place on Constitution Square in Warsaw's centre. Amnesty International was among organisers of the rally. “Innocent people are being beaten, tortured and killed in Ukraine. We cannot allow these crimes to go unpunished,” Amnesty's representative said.

The rally gathered Ukrainians, Poles, Belarusians and Russians, a charter97.org correspondent reports. People listened to Ukrainian music. Representatives of NGOs, human rights activists and Ukrainian protesters addressed the crowd.

Activists signed a petition to the Ukrainian authorities demanding to refrain from using violence against peaceful protesters and to investigate every case of violence and killing.
