Belarusians were transporting Polish apples to Kazakhstan through Novosibirsk

Twenty tonnes of apples from Poland were detained in Russia's Novosibirsk region.

During the quarantine phytosanitary check, inspectors of the Novosibirsk department of Russia's agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor revealed that almost 20 tonnes of Polish apples were brought in Novosibirsk region from Belarus.

According to the documents, the freight was meant for Kazakhstan, charter97.org learnt from the regional department of Rosselkhoznadzor.

“In accordance with the sanctions banning the import of certain kinds of goods imposed recently by Order of the President of the Russian Federation and the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, it is prohibited to bring the above mentioned goods in the Russian Federation. Officers of Rosselkhoznadzor's Novosibirsk department opened an administrative case over the offence,” the agency's press service noted.

In accordance with the agreement between the Siberian operative customs service and Rosselkhoznadzor's Novosibirsk department, the documents for the quarantine freight were sent to the Siberian operative customs service to issue a decision over failure to comply with the restrictions on bringing goods in the Russian Federation. The quarantine cargo was taken out of Russia to Kazakhstan.
