Homyel region sees almost 10,000 Ukrainian migrants since beginning of this year

As many as 9,368 Ukrainian citizens have moved from their country to the Homyel region since the beginning of the year, said the press office of the Council of Ministers.

Almost 900 Ukrainians staying in the region have asked authorities for help with finding a job. Jobs have been provided to 490 Ukrainians.

As many as 392 Ukrainian children have been admitted to schools of general education and 162 preschoolers have been admitted to day care centers.

More than 1,500 Ukrainians have contacted the Homyel regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society. The organization has raised 326.4 million rubels in donations for Ukrainian migrants.

The press office said that the cabinet would discuss the stay of Ukrainian migrants in Belarus "in the near future."
