Kupchina in Slovenia on a visit

Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Yelena Kupchina is leading a Belarusian delegation on a working visit to Slovenia.

Yelena Kupchina is expected to take part in the Belarusian-Slovenian business forum on 20 October. The forum will precede the fourth meeting of the Belarusian-Slovenian intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation.

The business forum and a business matchmaking session will be held under the aegis of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and Belarus. It is expected that the parties will talk over the most acceptable ways for promising cooperation in various areas. The Belarusian delegation includes representatives of various lines of business.

Yelena Kupchina will preside on Belarus' behalf at the plenary meeting of the Belarusian-Slovenian intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation on 21 October. The Slovenian part will be chaired by Director General for Economic Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs <>Stanislav Rascan. The commission will consider the status and prospects for the Belarusian-Slovenian trade and economic cooperation, including collaboration in the industry, transport, agriculture and tourism, and further improvement of the legal framework.

The parties will coordinate proposals to expand the scale of cooperation in the economic area and implementation of new joint projects. The agenda of the meeting will include the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus and the Slovenian Public Agency for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Development, Investment and Tourism SPIRIT.

While in Slovenia, Yelena Kupchina will hold talks with State Secretary of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and meet with Slovenian businessmen.
