Komorowski: Russia may resume combat action in Donbas at any moment

The active stage of the confrontation in eastern Ukraine can be resumed at any moment if Russia finds it profitable.

President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski said it on Thursday at the NATO Defense College in Rome, Censor.net reports with a link to PAP.

“We should not be deceived by a short pause in the Ukrainian-Russian conflict. In the best-case scenario, the conflict will be frozen to be able to be defrozen again at any moment when Russia finds it convenient,” he noted. According to Komorowski, the so called “hybrid warfare” is used in the Ukrainian-Russia confrontation. “Therefore, we should prepare our armed forces to possible negative scenarios,” he stressed.

The Polish president thinks the presence of NATO troops in the Alliance border countries can scare the aggressor. So, Warsaw welcomes the decision to deploy NATO forces in the country on a rotating basis.
