Govortsova into Tianjin Open last 16

Olga Govortsova of Belarus has advanced into last 16 of the $250,000 Tianjin Open in China.

The world number 157 outplayed Italy's Francesca Schiavone (World No.80) in two sets 7-5, 6-4. The match lasted for almost two hours. The Belarusian will next face Alison Riske of the United States (62).

In the doubles opener Olga Govortsova will pair with Chuang Chia-jung of China to face Chinese tennis players Zhaoxuan Yang and Ran Tian.

Max Mirnyi of Belarus will play at the $4.2 million competitions in Shanghai, China this week. Max Mirnyi and Feliciano Lopez of Spain will take on Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic and Mikhail Youzhny of Russia in the doubles opener.

The tournaments in Tianjin and Shanghai will complete on 12 October.
