Case against chairman of Vilejka district executive committee closed

Case against chairman of Vilejka district executive committee closed

Yauhen Sinila is suspected of abuse of power. However, the investigation of this case has been dismissed.

According to the version of the Investigative Committee, the official issued orders to heads of local organisations to transport materials and carry out construction of a private house, among other things, to engage employees during normal working hours without signing a contract to pay for their work, “Nasha Niva” writes.

However, as informed by a representative of the Investigative Committee directorate in Minsk region Tatsyana Belanoh, “proceeding from the collected evidence, considering the application received from the suspect, as well as implementation of an act of amnesty, the preliminary investigation in the case has been dismissed. During the investigation the damage caused by the suspect has been repaid in full. Certain materials have been extracted from the criminal case, and a legal evaluation of the actions of some CEOs of Vilejka district is to be given.”

Belanoh has also noted that the investigator has forwarded a demand to Minsk regional executive committee to correct violations of the law relating control over working hours of district executive committee workers.

We remind that in March 2014 Yauhen Sinila left the position of the chairman of Vilejka district executive committee. As the head of Minsk region Syamyon Shapira noted then, he had done that voluntarily. Then Sinila received a certificate of appreciation and a cash bonus for his work. However, later it became known that a criminal case had been opened against the former representative of the vertical of power.
