Political prisoner Parfiankou: I have to sleep in clothes in jail

Vasili Parfiankou sent a letter to his father describing conditions in his solitary confinement cell.

Piotr Parfiankou tells Radio Svaboda about his son's confinement conditions.

“He sent me a letter. He asks to send him newspapers and crosswords. He writes he is alone in the cell, the walls are wet. He has to sleep in clothes, but it's cold anyway,” the political prisoner's father says.

Vasili Parfiankou has been in solitary confinement for a few months. He is expected to be released on December 5. “See you soon outside the fence,” he wrote to his father.

The political prisoner is in a correctional facility in Horki. Vasili Parfiankou is sentenced to a year of imprisonment for violating the rules of preventive supervision. He was put under supervision after several arrests for participating in pickets of solidarity with political prisoners.
