Dinamo Minsk lose fifth in a row, fall to SKA

Dinamo Minsk have now lost five games in a row in regulation, with the latest setback coming against SKA Saint Petersburg in a 2-3 loss on Monday.

Dinamo Minsk had 19 shots against SKA's 35. The Belarusian team opened the score early in the second period with Alexander Materukhin's power play goal. SKA responded with three from Jimmie Ericsson, Artemy Panarin and Ilya Kovalchuk.

The Bisons made their best to return to the game. With five minutes left to play in regulation Ryan Vesce capitalized on his team's one man advantage to reduce the gap to the minimum. Despite Minsk's sharp shots and replacement of the goalie for an extra attacker, SKA held on to take the win.

With 43 points after 28 games Dinamo Minsk sit 7th in the West. Their recent losing streak included defeats against Amur Khabarovsk (2-4), Admiral Vladivostok (3-6), Jokerit Helsinki (1-3), Dinamo Riga (1-4). The Bisons will complete their road series with a game against Medvescak Zagreb on 19 November.
