New details in the case of the headline-making car accident of the Belarusian Ambassador to Russia have got into mass media.

Dmitry Satanov, the editor-in-chief of “Sigma-Plus” newspaper, published in Yartsevo, a settlement in Smolensk region of Russia, near which the car accident took place yesterday, has quoted on his Twitter account the words of the family members of the victims, who died in the accident.

“As said by the relatives of the killed. VAZ was turning off the highway in the direction of Yartsevo, crossing into the oncoming traffic lane. And he had not given way to Mercedes. He said he didn’t see the car, the speed of the Mercedes was about 200 kilometres per hour. VAZ is more likely to be considered guilty,” he writes.

Besides, the journalist notes that after the accident the car of the Ambassador of Belarus, Igor Petrishenko, didn’t have number plates for some reason.

We remind that on November 19 in the morning, in Yartsevo district Smolensk region, the car of the Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko collided with a VAZ-2104 driven by a 78-year-old driver. As a result of the crash, two women aged 75 and 77, passengers of the VAZ car, died. The ambassador and his driver were in the Mercedes, they were hot injured.

Initially the website of the Emergency Situations Ministry directorate of Smolensk region published a version that the reason of the accident was going over the speed limit by one of the participants of the crash. Later this report was removed.
