Art-Siadziba activist released

The report drawn up relating to the administrative violation of Syarhei Babaitsau has been reported out.

The activist was detained in Minsk on November 23 in the night, a coordinator of Art-Siadziba Mikita Brouka told, BelaPAN informs.

“Stas was taken to the court room, and we were not allowed to enter, policemen locked the door,” he said. “As it turned out in the court, the report had been drawn up in the wrong way. In the document it was written that he was under the influence of alcohol, though policemen had not even taken him for examination. As a result, the case was sent to be revised.”

Meanwhile, Stanislau Babaitsau was released.

As said by Brouka, besides Stanislau Babaitsau and his friend, policemen detained about 8 persons, and Art-Siadziba activists do not know them. “All of them have been sentenced to fines today,” he said, adding that the courts were held according to the same pattern: very quickly and without witnesses.

We remind that Stanislau Babaitsau and his friend were detained in Minsk on November 23 in the night, not far from “Kastrychnitskaya” metro station. Policemen decided to check their IDs, and the young people in their turn asked the officers to show their credentials. Policemen’s reaction to that was the following: Babaitsau and his friend were taken to the police department of Tsentralny district of Minsk. Police reports on petty hooliganism were drawn up there. The activist of Art-Siadziba project refused to sign the report.
