Regulation on Belarus-Ukraine border demarcation approved

The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus has approved the Belarusian-Ukrainian intergovernmental agreement, which in turn approves the regulation on demarking the state border between Belarus and Ukraine.

The move is stipulated by Council of Ministers executive order No. 1097 of 24 November. The executive order has been published by the national legal information website of Belarus.

The agreement was signed in Chernigov on 30 July 2014. In line with the executive order the Belarusian Foreign Ministry has been authorized to send the notification stating that the Republic of Belarus has fulfilled the intrastate procedures required for the agreement to come into force.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has also approved the agreement on the regulation on demarking the state border. Prior to that Belarus had simplified several procedures for demarking the border with Ukraine. On 1 September 2014 the Belarus president signed decree No. 422 on demarking the Belarus-Ukraine state border.

The Belarus-Ukraine border is 1,084.2km long.
