Mikhail Zhyzneuski's parents: We feel pressure in Belarus

A press conference “Price of Heroism” dedicated to the parents of Belarusian Mikhail Zhyzneiski who died during the Maidan protest a year ago was held in Kyiv.

Nina and Mikhail Zhyzneuski, who came from Belarus to Kyiv, say they feel pressure in Belarus both from the authorities and neighbours who believe the official anti-Maidan propaganda.

On November 21, the first anniversary of the Euromaidan protests, president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree to award the killed protesters with the Hero of Ukraine title. The ceremony was held at a meeting with families of the killed activists. According to the president's press service, Poroshenko stressed that under the procedure, the title of the Hero of Ukraine couldn't be given to three foreigners, so they would be awarded the Order of the Hero of the Heavenly Hundred.
