Political prisoner Lobau not released but already supervised

Edward Lubau, who should have been released on December 18 after 4 year imprisonment, is preventively supervised.

Mother of the political prisoner Maryna Lobova told charter97.org. “I had a call from Edward a minute ago. He said that the day he had a court hearing in the prison camp it was decided to supervise him in preventive manner for a year”, he said.

The court hearing was kept in secret. Neither Edward Lobau nor his attorney was informed about it. It happened despite the fact that both the court and the prison camp got massages about obligatory attorney’s presence at the court hearing.

Before it political prisoner’s mother had a short meeting with her son. She got no information about the court hearing.

It should be reminded that Edward Lobau along with the chairman of “Young Front” Dzmitry Dashkevich was arrested in Minsk on December 18, 2010. Lobau and Dashkevich’s arrest was a preventative measure provided by security service and police before presidential elections that took place next day.

On March 24, 2011 Moscow District court in Minsk sentenced Edward Lobau under the Art. 339 para 3. CC “especially malicious hooliganism” to 4 year imprisonment at tight institution.
