Is it not the late 30s?

Is it not the late 30s?

Helena Tankachova is forcibly displaced from Belarus. She is not the one the authorities reckon with.

But does it change the situation? Does anyone feel relief knowing the fact that one more “social gadfly” has been displaced?

Shadow fighters, all the Belarusian government officials, will you really feel relief if Tankachova is displaced and separated from her daughter? Do you really consider yourselves as human beings acting this way? What are the statesmen you are if you allow to inflict punishment upon lawyers, human rights activists, who are faithful in the performance of their duty?! That is like to displace doctor or teacher. Do you really want the nation to degrade, getting drunk and foolish? It is even worse to lose a lawyer or civil right activist; it’s like losing a conscience or getting naked in front of the crowd.

Nobody wants to hear the stories about the deportation of the Russians because of their traffic violation! They just work, stay for a weekend or lodge here.

What should this expulsion from the country mean for the person having spent most time of his walking life, 30 years, at home; the person who is going to leave everything here: home, friends, family, job? Is it not the late 30s, are you kidding? It may be not, but definitely - the Brezhnev Stagnation. However, everyone knows the history.
