Journalist Ales Zaleuski called to prosecutor's office

The Minsk city prosecutor's office got interested in a journalist of Polish TVP channel.

The journalist will be questioned at 13:00 today, Belsat reports.

According to Ales Zaleuski, the police questioned cameraman Siarhei Krauchuk as a witness and asked him about the journalist.

The TVP journalist says he may be charged with violating article 22.9 of the Code of Administrative Offences (illegal production and distribution of information) for working at the trial against human rights defender Yelena Tonkacheva.

This is the third administrative case opened against Ales Zaleuski this year. The Karelichy district court fined the journalist 30 penalty units on May 27 under the same article. The journalist was punished for his report about a private national history museum in Mir that has more unique exhibits than the state museum.

Ales Zalueski, who works for Belsat TV, was awarded this year for the best journalistic story for his story “People’s Affairs. Corruption in House and Utility Sector”. The author was accused of the “illegal production and distribution of mass information” and fined 6 million rubles for his story that reveals a money stealing scheme in the utility sector.
