Belarusian officials will be obliged to declare their savings, if they are not in the bank for safety.

General Prosecutor's Office announced the results of the public discussions of the draft law "On corruption". The department informed "Interfax" about it.

"Taking into account the results of the public discussion of the draft law, it is proposed to impose a declaration of officials and their family members savings exceeding 2000 base units (Br300 million; 1 base unit equals to Br150. 000 -IF), which are held out of banking organizations", the General Prosecutor's Office pointed out.

In addition, they continued, a significant part of the proposals concerned the increased liability for corruption offences to ensure transparency in the activities of state bodies and other organizations, to improve control over the income of public officials.

"In general, the citizens positively met the included rules in the draft law on anti-corruption before its public discussion. These rules concern the prohibition on the re-employment to the civil service and the restriction on rights of retirement insurance of people committed a certain category of crimes; the recovery the value of the property and expenses exceeding the officials' proven income, and so on", General Prosecutor's Office added.
