Domracheva 9th in 7.5K sprint in Sochi

Darya Domracheva of Belarus came in 9th in the Winter Olympics 7.5K sprint event on 9 February.

Skiing well Darya Domracheva missed a prone shot. The Belarusian was going 11th before the second stage. In standing the biathlete cleaned but the only penalty put her out of competition, 37 seconds back.

2010 Olympic Sprint Champion Anastasiya Kuzmina of Slovakia defended her title by winning gold as she finished in 21:06.8. Silver went to Russia’s Olga Vilukhina, 19.9 seconds back. Vita Semerenko, finishing 21.7 seconds back, brought Ukraine a bronze medal. All the medalists hit every target.

As for other Belarusian biathletes, Nadezhda Skardino finished 17th (+44.1 seconds; zero penalties), Anastasia Duborezova came in 34th (+1:22.9; 1), Lyudmila Kalinchik was 37th (+1:31.0; 2).
