Miasnikovich asks Makei to help with unsold goods

The issues of promoting Belarusian goods at international markets were discussed today at a session of the MFA Collegium.

Foreign minister Uladzimir Makei presented a report criticising the results of the work of the Foreign Ministry and diplomatic missions, analysing the problems with the special focus on foreign economy and outlining solutions to fulfil the tasks set for the MFA in 2014. Belarusian ambassadors to Italy, India and Ukraine made particular proposals based on the specifics of markets and situations in different regions, the MFA press service reports.

“In 2014 MFA diplomatic missions will focus on export potential of our country, as well as direct foreign investments attraction for its further development and the modernisation of the national economy,” the press release says.

The Ministry will continue its work to create favorable frame conditions for the promotion of Belarusian goods in foreign markets and the protection of domestic manufacturers with the tools of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space.

“In order to promote domestic products to foreign markets MFA will continue practicing two-stage targeted work with sectoral ministries and concerns, as well as Belarusian exporting companies. The Ministry will continue to develop optimal patterns of GDP generating products deliveries to the consumers abroad, the development of service exports,” the press release says.

The Ministry plans to cover new markets by means of the created system of stimulation and financial support of exports that is aimed at complementing the traditional instruments of exports organisation.

Belarusian PM Mikhail Miasnikovich emphasised the primary tasks of the MFA and diplomatic missions to promote exports, develop credit and investments cooperation and interact with the country's key foreign trade partners.
