Fighters protected by police attacked protesters in Odessa (Video)

Unidentified fighters equipped with the same helmets, bats and jackets attacked Euromaidan participants in Odessa.

On 19 February Euromaidan activists’ peaceful demonstration near Odessa region’s administration building was attacked by several hundreds of thugs wearing masks, motorcycle helmets and with bats in their hands. About 200 people with “Stop Maidan” stickers and black-brown ribbons appeared at the entrance to the building. They were brought in in an organized manner in busses, local media report.

It is worth paying attention that the fighters were similarly equipped and law enforcement agencies did not stop the brutal beating of the activists and journalists.

In the course of the massacre activists suffered injuries as well as reporters and cameramen of “New Odessa”, “5th Channel”, “New Channel”, “7th Channel”, “Reporter”, “Ukrinform”, a photographer of “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.

The deputy chairman of the region’s state administration Oleksij Honcharenko, who showed up after the carnage, stated that he quit the Party of Regions after the incident.
