Maidan refuses to demolish barricades (Video, online)

(UPD) Maidan’s commandant stated that he would not allow for the barricades to be demolished in Kyiv.

Andriy Parubiy spoke of that on TSN news. This is how Maidan’s commandant answered the anchor’s question of whether the protesters were ready to disassemble the barricades, which Kiev State City Administration’s head Volodymir Makeenko announced on Sunday 23 February.

“It cannot even be discussed, because on the barricades there are the icons of the guys from Self-Defense, Maidan activists, who died on those barricades defending the Maidan”, - Andriy Parubiy claimed.

“Makeenko means the barricades that the authorities erected – the blocks of concrete that they put all over Kyiv. I think, our barricades cannot even be discussed. No Makeenko, no politician or activist will not make such a decision now. If they do, I can say that I will not allow that as Maidan’s commandant”, - he ensured.
