Maksim Viniarski detained in Moscow for second time on same day

(updated at 18:31) The coordinator of the European Belarus civic campaign came to Moscow to support the defendants on the Bolotnaya case.

For the first time the Belarusian activist was detained about 10 a.m. near the building of Zamoskvoretskiy court, where the verdict was being announced to eight defendants on the Bolotnaya case.

“I was detained together with 15 people near the court building in Bolshoy Tatarskiy Alley during the first attempt of the action’s participants to pass beyond the fences. Two rows of riot police in bulletproof vests and helmets started pressing us. We tried to oppose the pressure as we could. As a result me and 15 more people were detained and taken to Taganskiy police department, where in a while protocols were composed, accusing us of allegedly crossing the street in an undue place”, - The coordinator of the European Belarus civic campaign Maksim Viniarski told Radio Svaboda.

The activist was released at 15:30 Moscow time. Maksim Viniarski came to Moscow today in the morning.

“I came specially for the verdict on the Bolotnaya case, because what happens in Russia and Ukraine affects us too”, - the activist pointed out.

For the second time Maksim Viniarski was detained at the evening protest action in Manezhnaya Square.

The activist reported of that to the charter97.org web-site.

We would remind that in Moscow a verdict was passed today to eight defendants on the Bolotnaya case. Seven participants of the protest action in Bolotnaya Square on 6 May 2012 were sentenced to imprisonments for from 2.5 up to 4 years, and one of the defendants got conditional judgment.
