The events in Kyiv cannot be called a coup.
The statement was made by Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Yuriy Sergeyev, ICTV reports.
He addressed the international community with the appeal.
“I demand the need to stop spread lies about the nature of political change in Ukraine as a coup,” Yuriy Sergeyev said. Ukraine has the legitimate authorities that are expected to form the government of national trust this week. Ukraine's representative to the UN said he hoped for the support of democratic changes the government would carry out in Ukraine.
Russian officials made several statements that Moscow didn't recognise the legitimacy of the new authorities in Ukraine and accused the Maidan's political leaders of a coup.
