Jury Dankou: I ended up in GULAG

The former owner of the Dankoff Club called monstrous the conditions in Zhodzina prison.

“Husband shortly wrote: I am in GULAG”, - the wife of the convict Natalia Dankova told Radio Svaboda. “Until now the hearings on the case have not even been scheduled, and the case has not even been passed to Minsk city court. I tell the counsels that we should appeal, and they say it is useless”, - she added.

We would remind that the owner of the Dankoff Club Jury Dankou was sentenced to eight years in prison and the confiscation of property. The verdict was announced on 23 December 2013 in the court of Minsk’s Moscow district.

Dankou’s trial started on 18 September last year and was closed. According to the defendant’s relatives, he did not admit guilt on most of the charges, including the ones on organizing a den and encouragement of prostitution.
