Housing and utilities minister wants to increase utility costs

Andrei Shorats suggest adding an investment markup to tariffs on utilities.

He made this proposal at a meeting of the working group on problems in the housing and construction sector, BelTA informs.

According to him, it is necessary to introduce an investment component into prices for utilities, otherwise, it will not be possible to “renew the basic assets on a large scale, install energy-effective equipment and implement serious projects with impressive capital outlays”.

The investment markup will allow attracting investments into the industry, thus reducing the money spent by the state budget, Sharats explains.
