Belarusian embassy earns on pancakes and bum wines

Diplomats and businessmen are invited to dinner at the Belarusian Embassy in the United States.

Nicolai Khalezin, the director of the Belarus Free Theatre, writes it on Facebook.

“Belarus is now a thriving independent European powerhouse filled with a rich culture, incredible scenery and exciting history. Tonight, join your fellow young professionals as you step onto foreign soil as we invite you to a special cultural evening at the Embassy,” reads a special invitation sent by the diplomatic mission of official Minsk.

The embassy promises to serve Belarusian national dishes and a “wide variety of the best in authentic Belarusian wine, beer and other beverages”. The invitation underscores the embassy is the only place the food and beverages are available in the United States.

Interestingly, tickets cost $45.

Belarus's embassies abroad probably pursue two goals: earn some money and repair the image of the last dictatorship of Europe.
