Ruslana: As politician, Putin died for civilised world

An Ukrainian singer shares her views about solidarity with her country.

Ruslana Lyzhychko writes it on her blog on the Ukrayinska Pravda website.

“The power of our voice is too strong to be mute,” she writes. “I addressed the entire world, all politicians and stars at the Belgian National Final for the Eurovision Song Contest. I called on all prominent people to make public statements. I called on politicians to take action to save human lives until it's too late.

Entire Belgium speaks about Ukraine. The country's biggest radio station plays Euphoria as a sign of solidarity. Ordinary Belgians raised Ukrainian flags during my performance. Nobody here will admit Putin's outrage.”

The singer and activist stressed: “As a politician, Putin died for the civilised world.”
