Liabedzka gets 15 days in custody

The leader of the United Civil Party, Anatol Liabedzka, was sentenced to 15 days in custody.

The news was received from Viasna human rights centre.

He was accused of violating two articles of the Code of Administrative Offences: 17.1 (disorderly conduct) and 23.34 (participating in an unsanctioned mass event). He received 5 days in custody under the first article and 10 days under the second one. The case was heard by judge Maryna Fiodarava.

Aliaksandr Arestovich, who took part in a picket of the United Civil Party, was given 10 days in custody under article 23.34 (participating in an unsanctioned mass event). His case was heard by Maryna Fiodarava, a judge of Minsk's Savetski district court.

Arestovich and eight picketers were detained on March 16 near the Kamarouski market. They were holding portraits of ten political prisoners, BelaPAN writes.

Uladzimir Ramanouski was sentenced by judge Kiryl Palulekh to 10 days in custody. Activist Hanna Kanapatskaya was fined 30 penalty units.

The cases of Yauhen Khrapau, Mikhail Babila and Hanna Mayorava will be heard today.
