Political prisoner Mikalai Autukhovich will be put under preventive supervision for a period of 16 months after his release.
Charter97.org has learnt it from activist Volha Mikalaichyk.
“I've learnt from Mikalai's lawyer that he was put under preventive supervision for 16 months,” she said.
Political prisoner Mikalai Autukhovich is expected to be released on April 8. He was jailed on May 6, 2010. The Supreme Court found him guilty of violating part 3 of article 295 of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 5 years and 2 months in a maximum security correctional facility, though the case fell apart at the trial due to lack of evidence. Autukhovich exposed corruption among local officials. He was officially charged with possession and transportation of five cartridges.
