Navalny: Entire Russia welcomes sanctions against Putin's crony billionaires

One of the leaders of the Russian opposition comments on the reaction of officials on the US sanctions.

Alexey Navalny's wife Yulia Navalnaya writes it on his behalf on the blog of the Anti-Corruption Foundation on the website of Ekho Moskvy (Echo of Moscow) radio.

“Vladimir Yakunin thinks the US applied sanctions to him due to his honest position and honest statements. Imagine the degree of the officially accepted hypocrisy, if this insatiable thief, who pinches everything he sees, who sent his children and grandchildren abroad, says something about honesty,” the comment reads. “Before I continue speaking about Yakunin, I'd like to note that, as I've already said, all citizens of Russia regardless their position on Crimea welcome the introduction of sanctions against Putin's crony billionaires. Look, even on super-propagandist Dorenko's Govorit Moskva radio, which can scarcely be called a liberal station) 92% of the audience support the sanctions.”

The comment quotes the official requests the Anti-Corruption Foundation file to the relative agencies of the UK and Switzerland over corruption activities involving Vladimir Yakunin and members of his family, including his son Andrey who resides in the UK.

The Foundation also publishes a request to check the activity of four foundations, where Vladimir Yakunin or members of his family are listed as founding members.
