Siarhei Kaliakin: Authorities' cynicism is something new for me

The leader of the Fair World party is surprised with the results of the election.

The state of the public consciousness has changed, according to Siarhei Kaliakin. The politician said it on March 24 answering BelaPAN's question about surprises during the election campaign.

I say it both as a campaign coordinator and a candidate, he explained. I have been running in elections for a long time, but I don't remember, except for the 1990s, there ever was feedback during distributing information materials among voters. People called and tried to talk. They didn't say they would vote for me, they asked questions, criticised and spoke about their doubts. I received about 40 phone calls.

I didn't notice other surprises. The only thing is that I didn't expect the authorities to ignore their own decisions. This cynicism was new for me. The Central Election Commission used to pretend to be an unbiased arbiter.
