Hrodna-based activist searched for stickers with Putin

The home of activist and journalist of Hrodna Ales Kirkevich was searched. The police were looking for stickers depicting Putin, but didn't found anything.

Kirkevich was shown a photocopy of the sticker “Boycott Russian goods” depicting the president of the neighbouring country. Police officers say such stickers have appeared in the district, where the activist lives, Radio Svaboda reports.

Ales Kirkevich was fingerprinted and gave saliva samples. The police issued an official warning to him. The activist thinks the policemen didn't have grounds to do it, because he didn't commit any offences.

Kirkevich was summoned to a police station for a talk. The police officers later searched the flat, where he lives.

Ales Kirkevich is a former political prisoner. He was arrested during the post-election protests on December 19, 2010. He was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment and pardoned in September 2011.
