Yanukovych put on Ukrainian wanted list

The official website of the Interior Ministry informs that Yanukovych is accused of violating paragraph 1 of part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The name of Ukraine's ex-president Viktor Yanukovych appeared on the Interior Ministry's open database of wanted persons. A criminal case for organising mass murders during protests in November 2013—February 2014 was opened.

The Ministry's website informs that Yanukovych is accused of violating paragraph 1 of part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The field “pretrial restrictions” says he must be detained, news.liga.net reports.

Ukraine Prosecutor General said earlier Ukraine issued an international arrest warrants for Yanukovych and Vitaliy Zakharchenko. Yanukovych is known to be in Russia. He held a press conference in Rostov-on-Don last Friday and said he considered himself to be the legitimate president of Ukraine.

On February 26, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine declared Viktor Yanukovych, Andriy Klyuev, Viktor Pshonka, Vitaliy Zakharchenko and others suspects.

Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada stripped Yanukovych of his presidential powers on February 22 and scheduled an early election for May 25. Parliament speaker Oleksandr Turchynov was appointed interim president.
