Lukashenka and Putin proceed with preparations for intervention in Ukraine

For two weeks Belarusian troops have been participating in planning the attack.

A well-known Ukrainian military expert Alexey Arestovich is convinced that despite the assurances of the Russian party, the preparation for an intervention in the country’s Eastern and Northern regions keeps going. According to him, Belarus takes an active part in it.

The expert spoke of that on the ‘Country Online’ TV show.

“There is data that at first Lukashenka was stubborn, but for two weeks already Belarusian troops have been taking an active part in planning a joint attack on Ukraine together with Russia. This is natural. In the place of Belarusians and Russians I would directly go to Rivne, cut off the Western regions from the possible assistance of the West. And this could only be done with the help of Belarus”, - Alexey Arestovich said.

The expert confirmed the existence of several scenarios of the seizure of Ukraine. Among the main targets he named Kyiv, as the country’s capital, and Odessa, as the main navy base after the loss of Crimea.

We would point out that Ukrainian authorities and experts reported that Russia has already started pulling troops away from the border, having reduced the numbers to 10 thousand. Last week the number of Russian troops along the border was estimated at 40 to 100 thousand people. However, at the same time experts do not rule out that pulling away troops is no more than maneuvers with the purpose to regroup the army and lull the vigilance of the opponent.
