Director of Luninets utilities company uses budget funds to pave road for own needs

The director of a public utilities company is suspected of ordering his employees to pave a territory of 1,000 square metres near his house with asphalt last September.

According tot the Investigation Committee's department for the Brest region, the director of the Luninets public utilities company is suspected of abusing his power, BelTA reports.

The exact size of the damage is unknown yet. An investigation is under way. Investigators examined the asphalt pavement, accounting records, offices of the executive officials of the utilities company and questioned witnesses.

The director is charged with violating part 2 of article 424 of the Criminal Code (abuse of power and office for mercenary interests contrary to the interests of the company).
