Ukrainian ambassador has returned to Minsk

Ukraine’s ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Belarus Mikhail Ezhel has returned to Minsk after consultations in Kyiv.

“The ambassador was not withdrawn from Minsk. He went to Kyiv for consultations. As of now he has returned. Today we will send a note to the Belarusian MFA to tell that the ambassador has returned to his duties”, - they told the Interfax-West news agency at Ukraine’s embassy in Minsk.

The ambassador’s return coincided with the presentation of Ukraine’s tourism potential that is taking place at the embassy.

We would remind that several weeks ago Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Ukraine’s ambassador to Belarus Mikhail Ezhel for consultations over the position of the Belarusian leadership on Crimea.

Earlier at a briefing in Minsk Lukashenka had made a number of statements on Ukraine. In particular, he had claimed that “Crimea is a part of Russia today”.
