Defence Ministry of Belarus held drills of intelligence officers

A meeting of scout-underwater swimmers (frogmen) with underwater battle firing drills was held in the 5th Independent Special Designation Brigade.

“They are best of the best quite literally, as they can do the things that any special-operations force officer do. Frogmen also parachute, march, reconnoiter the ground and search for objects of an imaginary enemy, only they can act not only in the air and on the ground, but also under the water,” the Defence Ministry report reads.

It is noted that a little, but well-prepared group of underwater swimmers can an important object of an enemy or provide its safe protection under water.

The primary tasks of military swimmers is reconnaissance of water zones, water obstacles traverse, freight handling, mine-laying, and other special tasks.
