Political prisoner Parfiankou thrown into punishment cell

The authorities of correctional facility No. 9 in Horki continue pressing on Vasili Parfiankou.

“I've written Vasili a letter. I am going to the post office to send it right now. His latest letter was on March 23. He wrote prison officers had returned a cross necklace to him. I haven't received any letters since then. Perhaps, he was thrown into the punishment cell again,” she said.

On December 5, 2013, Minsk's Pershamaiski court sentenced Vasili Parfiankou to one year in a medium security correctional facility for “violating the rules of preventive supervision”.

On February 11, Parfiankou was transferred from pre-trial detention facility No. 7 in Zhodzina to a detention facility in Horki. The political prisoner has spent 23 days in the punishment cell.
