Volodymir Ogryzko: Russia does not understand words, demonstration of forces is needed

No significant outcomes of the four-party meeting in Geneva should be expected.

Former foreign minister Volodymir Ogryzko shared the opinion in a commentary for Gordonua.com.

“Russia’s position remains unchanged. Yesterday Churkin beautifully presented it and accused the whole world of lying. Today Lavrov will continue this line and accuse everyone of not understanding the processes taking place in Ukraine. He will say that Crimea cannot be discussed at all, because it is the territory of Russia, and the world does not understand the new reality. He will say that legitimate authorities should be restored in Ukraine, and there is a legitimate president for that. On this the discussion will end”, - the former minister supposes.

“Naïve are those western experts, who believe that a dialogue is possible. They either do not understand the situation, or objectively playing up to Putin’s chauvinism. I am not expecting any practical results apart from statements for media”, - party claimed.

In the diplomat’s opinion, Russia does not understand words, the whole world should be speaking to them exclusively in the language of tough sanctions.

“Real sanctions should be put into force against Russia. So far this has only been an imitation. On the part of the West and on the part of Ukraine alike. Otherwise the situation will not improve. Russia is only able of understanding the language of force, the language they speak themselves. For any other language they require an interpreter”, - Volodymir Ogryzko said.
