Putin belied Rasmussen

The NATO states that the former Danish Prime Minister had not brought a dictaphone for recording the conversation with the leader of Russia.

The press-service of the NATO does not possess any information that the Alliance Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, while being Prime Minister of Denmark, taped one of the conversations with Russian president Vladimir Putin. “During his term in office as Danish prime minister, Mr. Fogh Rasmussen never brought a dictaphone to record meetings with Mr. Putin or anybody else,” NATO spokeswoman Oana Lungescu said, commenting the words of Russian president that such an incident had taken place.

We remind that today during the live TV phone-in Putin expressed indignation that the NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, while being Prime Minister of Denmark, once taped and publisized their personal conversation.

“He asked me for a meeting, which had not been planned. I agreed, and we met and talked,” Mr. Putin said during a televised question-and-answer session. “It turns out he had had a recorder on him, secretly recorded our conversation, and then published it in the media. I could not believe my ears and eyes. “Just some nonsense.”

As said by him, Rasmussen explained that he had recorded that conversation for history.
