Customs officers to face travel restrictions?

Foreign trips will be restricted for officers of the Belarusian Customs Committee.

Charter97.org has learnt it from a reader.

Travel restrictions will be imposed on customs officers on April 23. It's an order of the minister, he said.

The State Customs Committee partially confirmed this information in a conversation with a charter97.org correspondent.

There are restrictions for customs officers concerning foreign trips. All officers, if they don't have access to state secrets, must inform their bosses about travelling abroad and the border checkpoint they are going to use. Those having access to state secrets make a request instead of notifying. But the number of trips is not limited. Some additional restrictions are possible in the near future, because some people travel too often, but we have no official documents in this regard so far, the Customs Committee says.
