Ex-Odessa mayor: Only crazy people walk with Russian flags here

There are no causes for civil war both in the east and in the west of Ukraine.
Eduard Gurvits, MP from the UDAR party and ex-Odessa mayor, said it in an interview with Glavkom.
“Intransigence of the parties or violation of someone's vital interests can be such a cause. But it's funny when someone tries to build something on the Russian language issue. People have always spoken Russian here. Nobody forbids them. It's absurdity to say that some face discrimination for speaking this language,” Gurvits said.
“Odessa residents are strongly against any separatist slogans and attempts to disrupt the presidential election. Only crazy people walk with Russian flags here. The regional authorities try to maintain security of the city and communicate with the community. The city authorities, that had earlier sent 'titushki' to the Antimaidan rally in Kyiv and adopted an appeal to their beloved president Yanukovych calling to disperse the Maidan protests, continue to behave as if they were waiting for 'little green men' to save them from collapse,” Gurvits said.
Billboards with caricatures of Putin appeared in Odessa yesterday.
