Third criminal case against Fandok general director

A former general director of Fandok furniture factory was charged with abuse of office.

The information was spread by the press service of the Investigation Committee's department of the Mahilou region, BelTA reports.

The former general director is charged with abuse of office (part 3 of article 424 of the Criminal Code). The Investigation Committee seized his property worth 1.8bn rubles.

The criminal case was opened as a result of a joint probe conducted by the KGB, the State Control Committee, the Financial Crime Department and the Organised Crime Department of the Mahilou region. It was revealed that the former general director committed an offence out of personal or other selfish interests trying to conceal faults and shortcomings in his work. He signed the certificates of acceptance of the works on the plant upgrading and putting into operation the round timber sorting line, which were not fulfilled in full, and the act of completing mini co-generation plants mounting and commissioning works.

The investigation revealed another offence. From July to November 2007, acting for personal interests, he ordered to prepare documents on shipping sanded plywood to Russian firms at a price significantly lower than the stock exchange price. The damage from his actions is estimated at the difference of the prices.

The investigation continues.
