The activist was charged with disorderly conduct (article 17.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences) and failure to obey orders of policemen (article 23.4). Illia carried 30 small Ukrainian and white-red-white flags in the car, Viasna human rights centre reports.

Police officers Piastrak and Kisialou gave evidence at the trial.

Punishment for each offence was 7 days in custody, but judge Asipchyk sentenced him to 10 days.
