Volodymir Ogryzko: Russia is building new Berlin Wall across Ukraine

The Russian Federation is building a new Berlin Wall by mining the border between Ukraine and Crimea.

This came from Ukraine’s former foreign minister Volodymir Ogryzko on the air of 112 TV channel. In particular, he noted that in fact the phase of building a new Berlin Wall is currently ongoing, NEWSru.ua reports.

“There is only a question for Moscow: they have not yet decided where it will pass – across the territory of Ukraine’s Eastern regions, across the center of Ukraine, or will confine itself to Crimea”, - the former minister emphasized. According to him, Russia is starting to entrench itself by that.

On 21 April Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev tasked the new head of Russian Border Agency Konstantin Busygin to immediately proceed to providing the necessary facilities at the border between the Russian Federation and Ukraine with the consideration the occupation of Crimea.

At Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry they state that Russia keeps mining the so-called border with Ukraine on the side of the Crimea peninsula. The director of the MFA’s Information Policies Department Evgen Perebiynis stated that the ministry was indignant with such actions on the part of Russia.

According to the diplomat, such intentions of the Russian party are taken at the ministry for another step on the way to consolidate the annexation of Crimea and an evidence of Russia’s blatant violation of international law, in particular as to respect of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in its globally recognized borders.
