Militants from Belarus and Kazakhstan are among Slovyansk invaders

The city in Donetsk region is terrorized not only by Russian saboteurs.

It is written in The Time. Its journalist Simon Shuster was taken captive by militants in Slovyansk.

He informs that beside citizens of Russia, representatives of other CIS countries are present in the town. The journalist mentioned Belarus and Kazakhstan.

“Their leader Vyacheslav Ponomaryov, a soap manufacturer, who after seizure of power proclaimed himself a “people’s mayor”, asked Vladimir Putin for help, but this call seems to be ignored,” the journalist writes. “Armed forces who support him, consist of volunteers from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other parts of the former Soviet Union, as he says.”

As stated by The Time correspondent, more than 2,000 militants are there in Slovyansk at the moment.

We remind that since April 6 Russian subversion groups and local separatists started set-piece seizures of administrative buildings and the Interior Affairs Ministry and the SBU departments in eastern parts of Ukraine, which attract militants by their armouries.

In response Ukrainian authorities adopted a decision to launch anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Troops and military equipment have been sent to Donbass. An anti-terrorist operation is held in Slovyansk (Slavyansk) today. The National guardsmen and security forces are taking checkpoints at the outskirts of the city built by aggressors.
