Ukrainian security forces relaunched Donbass liberation operation

The anti-terrorist operation is renewed.

It has been stated by the acting Ukrainian president, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov in his address televised by “Rada” TV channel.

He stressed that the terrorists who had taken the entire Donetsk region as a hostage, had crossed the line of humanity long ago, and armoured criminals are seizing administrative buildings and taking hostages Ukrainian citizens and foreign journalists, torture and kill Ukrainian patriots.

“Taking in consideration the tangible threat and necessity to protect people, we have relaunched the anti-terrorist operation, which is carried out in a systematic and consistent manner with the aim of complete localizing of the terroristic threat and defence of civilians of our country,” Turchynov stressed.

At the same time, he underlined that the Russian Federation “is coordinating and openly supporting murderers-terrorists, who are fighting in the east of our country arms in hand.”

The operation on liberation of Slovyansk from terrorists who had occupied it started today in the afternoon. The National Guard servicemen and security forces seized checkpoints in the outskirts of the town, build by the invaders.

“During the anti-terrorist operation the units of the Interior Affairs Ministry and the Defence Ministry delivered and destroyed 2 roadblocks of illegal military formations in the north-eastern part of Slovyansk (Donetsk region). Up to 5 terrorists have been killed during the military clashes. One participant of the anti-terrorist operation has been injured,” the Interior Affairs Ministry of Ukraine informed.

After reports on massing Russian troops near the Ukrainian border of Russia, some media said the anti-terrorist operation was paused.

As said by journalists in Slovyansk and Kramatorsk, which had been turned into main strongholds of terrorists in Donbass, there are about 2,000 militants there. There are citizens of Belarus among them as well.
