Officer Demyanenko held in solitary confinement in Crimea for 11 days

He was offered a high salary and housing if he agreed to work for Russia.

Viacheslav Demyanenko, who was released from Russian captivity, is on his way to Kyiv. He plans to have a rest after detention, a spokesman for Ukraine's Ministry of Defense in Crimea, Vladislav Seleznev, said on April 3.

“Viacheslav crossed the 'border' with continental Ukraine at 1:40. He is on his way to Kyiv,” Seleznev saif to UNN information agency.

“He was intimidated and offered rewards, such as a huge salary and housing. But Viachaslau didn't break the oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine. He is tired, but not broken. He wants to have a rest,” Seleznev said.

Vladislav Seleznev said earlier that captain Viacheslav Demyanenko had arrived in continental Ukraine.

Captain Demyanenko disappeared on March 23 after the seizure of the centre for information and psychological operations. He was reported to have been held at the Russian Black Sea Fleet commandant's office in Sevastopol.

It was reported on April 3 that Demyanenko was freed.
