Grybauskaitė deprived propagandist Kiselev of Lithuania state’s award

A Russian propagandist Dmitry Kiselev, who has been included in the USA and EU’s black lists, has been deprived of Lithuania state’s award.

Such a decision was taken by Lithuania’s president Dalia Grybauskaitė.

“Coming from the Constitution and the part 1 of the article 18 of the ‘Law on state awards’, Dalia Grybauskaitė signed a decree, by which she crossed Dmitry Kiselev off the list of the honored for having denigrated the award’s honor”, - the presidential administration reports.

It was Lithuania parliament’s vice-speaker Piatras Austriavicius, who appealed to the president on the subject of depriving Kiselev of the award, ru.delfi.lt reports.

The Russian TV anchor-propagandist is notorious for his passages on the West, Russia’s neighboring NATO-members and the Kremlin’s invincible power. Lately the most prominent have been his statements saying that it only Russia was able to turn the United States into “radioactive ashes”.

Kiselev was awarded a medal in the commemoration of the events of 13 January 1994 by the decree of Lithuania’s president Algirdas Brazauskas. Kiselev then, as a reporter of Russian state TV station ‘Ostankino’ in the Scandinavia countries, received the award together with a famous TV-journalist Tatyana Mitkova, and the director of Russian interindustry scientific and technical complex “Eye Surgery” Svyatoslav Fedorov.
