Boris Nemtsov: Putin and Lavrov are offering Ukraine what they have buried in Russia

Moscow demands of Ukraine reforms that were never implemented in Russia itself.

Such an opinion came in a commentary for UNIAN from a Russian oppositionist Boris Nemtsov.

“The president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the head of the MFA of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov are insistently recommending Ukrainian government to hold fair elections of governors, provide autonomy for the regions, adopt a new Constitution with country’s federal structure stipulated in it and abstain from implementing violence. And to that also necessarily arrange a round table discussion between the government and opposition. The suggestion comes when elections of governors have been eliminated in Russia, regions robbed and the country’s federal structure buried, as well as the dialogue between the society and government. We regularly see as riot policemen throw peaceful protesters into police vans and beat them. This is the dialogue”, - Nemtsov said.

We would remind that the head of Russia’s MFA Sergei Lavrov repeatedly declared the necessity of a constitutional reform in Ukraine with the country’s transformation into a federation. Apart from that Russia, despite the annexation of Crimea, demands that Ukraine established its non-aligned status and introduced Russian as the second official language.

The head of Ukraine’s MFA Andriy Deshchytsa in his turn advised Lavrov not to intervene in Ukraine’s affairs.
